After exciting first two weekends of Alliance Tournament XII with live commentators on stream we present the third weekend of the tournament in the fully revamped EVE TV studio. Expect intense battles and in-depth analysis during and after the matches by commentators at the CCP headquarters in Reykjavik.
The Alliance Tournament is a double elimination tournament. Each team can lose up to one match, but the second lost match leads then to instant elimination (except for the semifinals and finals, they are best-of-three and best-of-five matches). The Alliance Tournament spans in total over the course of four weekends, this is the third weekend.
All matches of the Alliance Tournament will be broadcasted and commented live by our tournament experts on the CCP Twitch.tv channel; the broadcast - which is completely free - begins on August 30th and 31st at 14:00 UTC - don't miss it!

]]>“Donate Game Time” is an easy way to use PLEX to instantly gift 30 days of game time to another character (more information about PLEX can be found in the Knowledgebase article about PLEX).
To use the “Donate Game Time” feature you need to have at least one PLEX available in your inventory.
Check out the animation below for a visual guide and read on for more details.
Simply right-click on the PLEX icon and then choose the “Activate PLEX” option from the popup menu. This will open a new window which shows several services available.
At the bottom of this window you will see the “Donate 30 days of game time” option. In the text field, type the name of the character you would like to donate the game time to. As you type the character name, you will see a list populate with character names that match the text you have entered. Once their name appears, click on the character you would like to donate the game time to.
Once you have selected a character, the “Donate” button to the right will become clickable. Click the “Donate” button to start donating the game time. The “Donate” button switches to a teal colored “Confirm” button.
You have 5 seconds to confirm your decision by clicking the button. Afterwards the “Confirm” button turns back to the “Donate” button and you will have to re-confirm your choice.
If you have selected the wrong character, you simply can remove the character by clicking the little white X in the text field.
With “Donate Game Time” you can give game time directly to your friends or to your own alt accounts without going through the process of transferring PLEX to another character, who would then have to actively use that PLEX themselves. It is also a very simple way to activate inactive accounts.
“Donate Game Time” saves you and the receiving character some time as you transfer the benefits from using PLEX instantly.
If the receiving character resides on an inactive account, the “Donate Game Time” feature will activate that account and 30 days of game time will be added.
If the receiving character is a trial account, the “Donate Game Time” feature will convert that account to a full subscribing account and adds 30 days of game time to that account. All trial account restrictions will be lifted.
If trial accounts invited via the Buddy Program are converted to fully subscribed accounts via the “Donate Game Time” feature, then the Buddy inviter will receive a reward just as if the trial account owner would have used a PLEX to upgrade the account (More information about the Buddy Program can be found on the EVE Online Account Management).

]]>The 12th iteration of the annual Alliance Tournament continued during the second weekend (broadcasted and commentated live on August 23rd and 24th) with exciting matches, fierce fighting, surprising upsets and teams against the wall facing extermination the tournament.
The Alliance Tournament is a double elimination tournament, which means that you can afford to lose one match and still continue the tournament. The loser of a match is kicked down to the losers’ bracket of the tournament; in this bracket it is all-or-nothing: either you win or you are out of the tournament. Once you are in the loser bracket you stay there until you make it hopefully to the finals
This second weekend kicked off with high dps matches and a firework of action. We saw electronic warfare races, battleships with few points of structure skillfully using the jump beacons available in the arena to get out of the fray just split seconds before the ship hull would have exploded, boundary violations leading to the immediate destruction of the offending ships, and incredible matches swinging back and forth.
We also saw slower, more tactical matches which gave the commentators more time to explain the tactics applied and to give background information on decisions and what was going on.
We saw flawless victories and matches hanging by a sliver of structure (6 points of structure hitpoints left on a Hyena in this match – an average battleship can have tens of thousands hitpoints in comparison). We saw great player advertisement videos and spectacular live broadcasts from in-game systems during the beak in between the matches.
Check out the recorded and fully commented matches on YouTube (Day 1, Day 2, Day 3)! You can also watch the battle playbacks on the excellent player operated EVE Online Fansite Null-Sec.com.
If you have missed this first or the second weekend, don’t despair! The Alliance Tournament continues during the next two weekends until September 7th better than ever before with a full studio setup and interesting interviews, analysis and presentations between the matches. The next broadcast is scheduled for August 30th at 15:00 UTC. The tournament brackets can be found here.

After a furious first weekend with thrilling fights and some spectacular matches, the second weekend of the Alliance Tournament XII organized by CCP is about to kick off with teams already fighting against elimination from the tournament.
As the Alliance Tournament is a double elimination tournament, each team can lose up to one match, but the second lost match leads then to instant elimination (except for the semifinals and finals, they are best-of-three and best-of-five matches). During the first weekend we saw teams getting sorted into the losers bracket (one match lost) or remaining in the winners bracket (no match lost), but from now on it is all-or-nothing for the 32 teams in the losers bracket.
During this second tournament weekend on August 23rd and 24th we will see action packed matches between some of the finest and most renowned alliances to be found in EVE Online giving their best to win. The Alliance Tournament spans in total over the course of four weekends.
All matches of the Alliance Tournament will be broadcasted and commented live by our tournament experts on the CCP Twitch.tv channel; the free broadcast begins on August 23rd and 24th at 15:00 UTC - don't miss it!

]]>Alliance Tournament XII is now in full swing with the second weekend starting on Saturday the 23rd of August at 15:00 UTC. There have been upsets, uncertanties, and excitement along with everything else that makes a tournament great!
Remarkably, CODE. did not show up for their scheduled match against Red vs. Blue nor did they make any attempt to inform the tournament organizers of their status. We have decided to interpret their actions as a sign of resignation from the tournament. As such they have been disqualified from Alliance Tournament XII and CODE. will not be able to enter future Alliance Tournaments.
Circle-Of-Two will thus get a bye in their scheduled match against CODE. on Sunday the 24th and all subsequent matches that day will happen 20 minutes earlier than initially scheduled.
Tune in for an action packed weekend two of Alliance Tournament XII, and remember to use the twitter hashtag #ATXII to discuss the matches.

The first weekend of the annual Alliance Tournament (broadcasted and commentated live on August 16th and 17th) has seen exciting matches, brilliant tactics, good gamesmanship and some surprising upsets.
The Alliance Tournament is a double elimination tournament, which means that you can afford to lose one match and still continue the tournament. The loser of a match is kicked down to the losers’ bracket of the tournament; in this bracket it is all-or-nothing: either you win or you are out of the tournament. Once you are in the loser bracket you stay there until you make it hopefully to the finals.
Already the first of the 32 matches during this weekend – Clockwork Pineapple against Razor Alliance – was incredibly tense with Clockwork Pineapple winning in the end after a strong initial phase from Razor Alliance and lots of good fighting. Both alliances stay in the tournament; Razor in the losers bracket needs to win now all following matches and cannot afford another loss or they are eliminated from the tournament.
The first weekend saw also considerable upsets: battleships accidently microwarp-jumping out of the arena, getting destroyed as per the rules, and thus turning the tide of the fight from winning to losing. Another match saw a whole team staying absent (CODE. didn’t show up against RvB). In one match we saw time speeding up due to a stalemate situation until time itself was running five times faster than normal. We saw flawless victories and matches hanging by a sliver of structure. We saw great player advertisement videos, the return of the famous “Jita Cam” and lots of fun during the break matches.
Check out the recorded matches! You can also watch the battle playbacks on the player operated EVE Online Fansite Null-Sec.com.
If you have missed this first weekend, don’t despair! The Alliance Tournament continues during the following weekends until September 7th with the next exciting matches coming up on August 23rd at 15:00 UTC. The tournament brackets can be found here.
